Victoria's Group
In this Group: Victoria , Charles , Portia , Mary , Benedicta
This group is composed of five persons who are friends living in the same district. The group's representative, Victoria, standing far left in the photo, is 39 years old. She did attend school to the high school level, and she is married to a businessman named Emmanuel. The couple have two children, all in school and in their care. Victoria lives with her husband and children. The household expenses are covered by the couple. For this reasons, Victoria has been selling "silver" products out of her home for sixteen years. She gets her supplies from a market in Ghana.

With the goal of diversifying her business and earning a loyal customer base, Victoria joined with the other members to request a total third loan amount of GHS 3200 from ID-Ghana. The previous loans were used judiciously and were indeed repaid promptly. The other members of the group are into wax-prints, detergents and cosmetics.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
