Shehnaz's Group
In this Group: Shehnaz, Ramzana, Tasleem
Shehnaz is a 53-year-old married woman, living with her family in the area of Lahore, Pakistan.

She is involved in the business of milk sales with the support of her husband. She has two buffaloes and sells their milk to many of their neighbors, along with butter and cheese that she makes from the milk. She looks after the buffaloes and performs the task of getting milk from them while her husband sells it to different places on a daily basis. They are happily doing this together to support their family.

She is the mother of four children and needs to earn much more to meet their everyday expenditures including food, clothing, and health. In order to make huge profits, she requested a loan from Kiva’s field partner BRAC Pakistan, to buy one more buffalo. This will help her to increase her sales, which will ultimately help in generating more income for her.

Shehnaz says thank to Kiva and to its field partner BRAC Pakistan.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
