Levy William
Levy, 36, was only able to complete 6th grade. He’s married and his wife works in agriculture. They have four children (17, 14, 10 and 9 years of age). Two of them attend school.

Levy has been a day laborer his entire life and has been working in agriculture for himself for 8 years. He learned from a friend who owned corn fields and told him that he’d help him plant, fertilize, remove husks and fold. This is how he gained knowledge and decided to start working for himself. His wife and children help him and they reach their fields on horseback because they are located about 3 kilometers from home. They work from 6:30 in the morning until 1 in the afternoon.

The loan will be used to buy fertilizer and herbicide and to pay for a tractor to produce 7,000 square meters of corn.

What he most wants is to improve and be successful. He will attain this with loans granted that will not only help him but also all the members of his family. All of this will serve to improve the quality of life of all these people and that will make him happy.

Levy hombre de 36 años, solo tubo la oportunidad de estudiar hasta 6º grado, esta casado; su esposa es agricultora, tienen 4 hijos (17, 14, 10 y 9 años de edad), de los cuales 2 están en la escuela.

Don Levy, ha sido jornalero toda su vida y de ser agricultor y trabajar en lo propio 8 años. La forma en que aprendió, fue gracias a un amigo que tenia milpas, y le decía que le ayudara a sembrar, fertilizar, tapiscar y doblar. Así fue como, tubo conocimiento y decidió trabajar en lo propio. Su esposa, le ayuda junto con sus hijos, y para llegar a donde esta la siembra, se suben en sus caballos, porque esta a una distancia de aproximadamente 3 km de su casa, y trabajan de 6.30 de la mañana a 1 de la tarde.

El préstamo sera utilizado para comprar los fertilizantes, herbicidas y pagar la maquinaria agrícola. Para la producción de 7,000 metros cuadrados de maíz.

Lo que mas desea, es superarse y ser exitoso. Todo esto lo lograra, con los otorgamientos de los créditos. Los cuales no solo le ayudaran a él, sino que también se verán beneficiados los miembros de su familia. Todo esto servirá para mejorarles la calidad de vida a todas estas personas, y lo hará sentir feliz.

This loan is part of a CrediCampo project to help rural farmers living in extreme poverty plant basic grains to feed their families. Excess product is sold on the local market. These loans are smaller than the typical loans offered by this field partner, and guarantee requirements are also reduced. Individuals who receive this type of loan also get access to technical assistance, information on good environmental practices and increased access to farm inputs like fertilizer. This is considered a high risk loan due to the population and loan purpose, and CrediCampo is one of the very few institutions in El Salvador willing to working with these farmers.
