She has worked for many years growing potatoes since in her youth her parents didn’t just teach her principles and values but also taught her the value of work. Since her parents worked in agriculture what they taught her was how to work the land. Her crops are located 20 meters from her house so she reaches them on foot. She and her husband work together and do the work by themselves.
Her goals and dreams are to forge a solid estate for her children’s well-being and her future children too so that they will have a place to work, to build their homes and to be able to generate income for their families.
This is why she’s asking for a loan today to buy supplies like leaf fertilizer, manure, fertilizer and certified potato seed, among others to maintain and plant new crops.

More information about this loan
These loans are designed for female farmers who produce a variety of products (onion, garlic, eggplant, spinach, mango, strawberries, etc.). Loan terms will vary depending on need, and borrowers can choose to make a "bullet" payment timed with harvest profits. Agricultural loans are considered risky in Honduras due to external forces like unpredictable weather and worldwide crop prices. As a result, many traditional financial institutions are unwilling to offer these loans. With Kiva funding, COMIXMUL will be able to reach more borrowers with agricultural loans tailored to their needs.
