Cruz
Cruz is a single man aged 33. He lives with his four children, two girls and two boys, in the hamlet of Chuisanto Tomas, Santa Catarina Ixtahuacán, Sololá.

He is a man who fights to give his family a better life, and that's why he works hard in the countryside every day, growing maize. It's fairly productive, because he is able to support his family for a year with it and can sell it in the local town market.

He says that thanks to what his father taught him, he now has 20 years of experience in this business, which up until now has generated a good income and profit which help him to contribute to the household expenses.

He is requesting a loan of 2,500.00 quetzales to buy organic compost to grow corn. His dream is to make more money, which will allow him to offer his family a better quality of life.

Cruz es un hombre soltero de 33 años de edad, vive junto a 4 hijos los cuales son, 2 hombres y 2 mujeres en el Caserío Chuisanto Tomas Santa Catarina Ixtahuacán, Sololá.
El es un hombre que lucha por darle una vida mejor a su familia y es por ello que día a día se esfuerza por trabajar en el campo, cultivando maíz que es bastante productivo ya que puede sostener a su familia durante un año y lo puede comercializar en el mercado local de su comunidad.
Comenta que gracias a las enseñanzas de su padre él ahora tiene 20 años de experiencia en este oficio que hasta el momento le ha generado buenos ingresos y ganancias que le ayudan a contribuir en los gastos de su familia.
El está solicitando un préstamo de Q 2,500.00 para la compra de abono orgánico para el cultivo de maíz.
Su sueño es generar más ganancias que le ayudaran a darle una mejor calidad de vida a su familia.

ADICLA (Association for the Holistic Development of the Basin of Lake Atitlán) is nonprofit rural community development association that provides small loans and services to improve quality of life in two of the poorest regions of Guatemala, home to large indigenous populations. Kiva funding will be used to support three innovative credit initiatives: youth business loans, green loans, and smaller loans to help ADICLA move down-market and serve poorer clients.
