Martha lives in a rural area in the department of Chontales. She makes tortillas from corn and sells them every day in her community. Four times per week she also sells homemade foods and soups, with the help of her oldest son. Her two younger children are still in school. She is requesting this loan to buy inputs such as corn, firewood, meat, and basic grains for her business. During the final months of the year, sales improve and she wants to be stocked up to meet demand.
