A loan of $225 helped to buy bananas wholesale.

Maritza's story

Maritza is 37 years old, married to Félix and mother to 5 children. She lives with her family in her own home. Maritza sells bananas from a table set up at the front of her house. She attends to her customers in a friendly and cordial manner, in the end winning their friendship. She has been doing this for three years. She has had one loan From MFP and can count on the help of her children in buying the product and in attending to the customers in their free time. She hopes to keep the business going and continue to count on this daily sustenance. At her age it is difficult to find a job.

This is Maritza's first loan with Kiva. She will invest the 600 PEN to buy bananas at a low price by buying in volume. Taking advantage of a shortage of the product and prices being elevated, she will generate more income.
