Las Violetas is a group of four friendly, enterprising, and happy women. The bank's located in the town of Tierra Blanca, better known as "The Girlfriend of the Sun" for its intense summer heat. The main economic activities here are commerce and ranching.

Angélica, 41, is one of the members of the group. She's married and has two children, and she only attended elementary school. She says she has been a merchant for 25 years.

Currently Angélica and her husband have set up a shoe store in the center of town. She's very happy with her business because for several years it has been a source of income for her family. Also, it has helped her give her family a better quality of life. In the afternoon her daughters help her tend to the store and she teaches them to earn a living. She says her prices and the variety of stylish shoes distinguish her shoe store from others.

Angélica hopes to invest this loan in buying a variety of footwear to restock her business and continue with her sales. She hopes her business continues to make progress and earn better profits because she wants her children to be able to study for a profession.

The other members of the group are Mónica, who sells clothing; Anselma, who has a nixtamal mill; and Martha, who sells clothing.
