Hasan is a 43-year-old, Lebanese man. He lives with his wife and their four children, who are attending school. He has been working in the construction field for the past 15 years. He is very qualified and knows how to get the work done properly. He works on a freelance basis and has two part-timers helping him to achieve the work.
Today, Hasan is requesting to borrow a loan from Kiva partner, Vitas s.a.l. He will use the loan funds to purchase wood. It’s common for all construction workers to possess wood products, to be used as ladders or scaffolds to help them reach higher heights. Hasan is pretty sure that a Kiva loan will assist him in improving his work. He looks forward to owning an office where he will deal suitably with construction entrepreneurs.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
