Durbelly, a sus 36 años de edad es casada y madre de 2 hijos. Hace algún tiempo, por falta de oportunidades laborales, decidió montar un negocio para adquirir recursos económicos por cuenta propia y así poder ayudar a su esposo con el sustento familiar; inició una pequeña tienda en un sector de la ciudad donde tiene la ventaja de no poseer competencia cercana, por lo que hasta el momento ha dado buenos resultados y, de esta forma ha podido generar recursos para solventar las necesidades básicas del hogar. La cliente es una mujer pujante, luchadora, activa y emprendedora, manifiesta que le gusta su labor porque maneja su tiempo, genera ingresos y puede estar pendiente de su hogar. Actualmente solicita el crédito para invertirlo en la compra de surtido al por mayor (productos de aseo, mecato, galletería, confitería, productos de la canasta familiar), de esta manera podrá aumentar su inventario y ofrecer más variedad de productos a sus clientes, satisfaciendo sus necesidades y diversos gustos, esto se verá reflejado en el incremento de sus ventas y por ende los ingresos que recibe. This loan is structured on Kiva as a bullet loan, which means a single payment is required at the end of the loan term. By Colombian law, Kiva's partner Interactuar is required to offer borrowers loans with a variable interest rate that fluctuates with the market rate. Because fixed monthly payments are applied first to interest and then to principal, Interactuar is unable to predict upfront what portion of each repayment would go towards the loan principal. This creates a challenge with Kiva's system, which doesn't allow for unpredictable principal payments, and can result in some Interactuar clients appearing falsely delinquent. To remedy this, the loan has an end-of-term repayment plan on Kiva, but the borrower will continue scheduled monthly repayments to Interactuar, who will then pass along the principal amount to Kiva lenders. This means that you may see repayments made on this loan throughout the repayment term, as opposed to receiving repayment in full at the end of the loan term.
