Nerio
Nerio is a long way from home. Originally from Colombia, he resides in Houston, Texas, working as a bookkeeper and tax preparer. His business, Easybooks, has assisted Houston residents during tax season for more than eight years. He specializes in assisting Spanish-speaking citizens and immigrants in the area.

When Nerio needed extra money to purchase computer equipment and programs, a friend informed him about Accion Texas Inc., the nation’s largest microlender. After applying and receiving a business loan from Accion, Nerio proceeded to purchase additional equipment so that he can expand and process a higher volume of tax returns. Nerio purchased computer software to make his job easier and more efficient.

All these improvements allowed Nerio to grow his business, retain his one full-time and two part-time employees, and make plans to hire an additional part-time worker soon. “Without the Accion loan I would not have been able to purchase what I needed to grow my business”, says Nerio.
