Vannary is 38 years old and a mother of four schoolchildren residing in Sampov Meas district of Pursat Province. She deals with her daily cost of living via rice farming as a main source of income. Nowadays, she can earn about 89,000 KHR per day from the current business that she has had for 20 years.
Vannary is a first time borrower with VisionFund (Kiva’s partner). She is now seeking for 3,000,000 KHR in order to buy fertilizer and to pay the plowing fee for her farmland. Additionally, she will spend a portion of it to buy piglets for raising extra income. She hopes to support her needs, make a good profit for her family, and keep her children in school.
About VisionFund Cambodia
VisionFund Cambodia is a Christian organization and microfinance institution that provides small loans and other financial services to improve the lives of children, empower poor women and their families, and grow successful businesses. The organization works primarily in rural parts of Cambodia and has distinguished itself by targeting the very poor who require smaller loan sizes, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or ethnic background.
Kiva lenders’ funds will help the organization to expand into the northeastern provinces of the country, which have historically been underserved and difficult to reach with financial services.
