Myrna earns a living by selling grilled chicken (or “Lechon Manok” in our dialect). She is 38 years old, married, and lives in Lawis, Sindangan, Zamboanga del Norte.
She is now well known for the nice quality and good taste of her grilled chicken. She has already saved from the profit of her business. Her business is self-sustaining and has become profitable, with a net profit of about PHP 5,000 per month.
Myrna is seeking a PHP 5,000 loan. She would like to use the loan to purchase dressed chicken. This is a microfinance loan and would be repaid in a few months.
In her five previous loans, she has never had a delinquency. Myrna is very diligent and loves accuracy, which only adds to her effective management of her venture.
About Paglaum Multi-Purpose Cooperative
Paglaum Multi-Purpose Cooperative (PMPC) was founded in 1992 by the beneficiaries, parents and staff of the Paglaum Community Development Foundation to address economic and livelihood activities for sustainability. The organization operates in the northwestern provinces of Mindanao and Visayas.
In the local vernacular, “paglaum” means “hope.” The initial foundation is dedicated to child development through a holistic approach. The goal is to build self-reliance and expand opportunity so the poorest of the poor can help themselves.
