Majeeda's Group
In this Group: Majeeda, Nusrat
Majeeda is the age of 50 and the mother of 7. Her husband and one of her sons own a cattle selling and purchasing business.

Her husband has been running this business for many years and earning a healthy income for many years. Her son is a married person and the responsible father of 3 children. Both want to buy billy goats to sell on Eid days, because the Eid-Ul-Azha is about to come in several months. Many people like to buy billy goats to immolate on Eid-Ul-Azha. They have been feeding their cattle for many days to sell on Eid for a high cost. In this way they can easily get the maximum reward for their efforts in a month.

Therefore, Majeeda requested a loan from Kiva’s field partner BRAC Pakistan so that her husband and son can buy more billy goats to sell. Majeeda hopes that they will be able to get maximum income for the current year and can invest the profit in the same business for growth. Majeeda says thanks to Kiva and to its field partner, BRAC Pakistan.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
