Zhana, 25, lives in the village of Teliani, in the Kaspi district of Georgia. She lives with her husband, retired grandmother and two toddler children. Zhana is an internally displaced person and lives in a small community that is mainly populated by refugees from the conflicted area where Zhana once lived.

In spite of these vital difficulties, Zhana is an enthusiastic and energetic young woman who has a great desire to get ahead. The family earns a living through a small poultry farm with 20 hens. Zhana sells the eggs to community members, and her husband sometimes works as a laborer in the village to earn a small income.

Zhana’s family receives social assistance from the local government. She recently received financial support from an international humanitarian organization to build a grocery store. The family built the store and purchased all the equipment necessary to start the store. Zhana is now requesting a loan to buy basic groceries to stock the store.

Zhana will work as a saleslady and serve her customers in a friendly way. She hopes her business will be lucrative and that she will increase the turnover gradually.

This loan will be a great help to the family to generate income and improve their living standard.
