Yagud B. is a 42-year-old woman who sells dairy products such as milk and yoghurt in the Imishli region. She started her business in 1989. She is married and has 2 sons. As selling dairy products is the only financial resource in her family, Yagud would like to expand her business and purchase three additional calves for an estimated cost of 300 USD each and fodder for the remaining 100 USD.
Aqroinvest Credit Union was founded by a group of 32 Imishli farmers in 2001, and has grown to become one of the largest credit unions in Azerbaijan. It boasts a portfolio of nearly $5 million and is wholly owned by its more than 3,500 borrowers, as of December 2011.
