A loan of $625 helped to buy chicken, clothing and footwear for which he has orders.

Wualdimiro's story

Wualdimiro, 42 years old, lives in the municipality of Soledad with his wife and 17-year old daughter. To earn an income and support his family, he has a business through which he makes a living selling chicken and other various merchandise.

His business started when he got the opportunity to buy a freezer. With this, he started selling frozen chicken in his neighborhood community. This first experience went very well for him, he was well received among his neighbors, and little by little he grew his clientele. He takes advantage of this to sell them various merchandise, adapted to their needs, such as clothing and footwear.

Wualdimiro buys and sells chicken daily, and in the case of the merchandise, he does it every 2 weeks, buying in other cities where he travels. His future goal is to distribute to stores and to be able to pay for daughter's university studies. His greatest challenge is to face the competition and their marketing strategies.

He is currently applying for a Kiva loan, his first loan with the Fundación Mario Santo Domingo, through which he will buy chicken, clothing and footwear for which he has orders. With this investment, he hopes to capitalize the business, in order to respond to orders from his customers and to be more and more effective with the deliveries.
