Esperanza Marlene
The Chimborazo communal bank meets every fortnight in the Picoaza Parish in the city of Portoviejo. The city is known for it's commerce, it's traditional festivals of San Pedro and San Pablo and for the joy of it's people.

Esperanza lives here. She is 44 years old, married with four children from this relationship. Two are adults and two, aged 7 and 1, study in Secondary School. Three of them still live at home. Her husband is an informal merchant. Esperanza is a great wife, who is taking out this loan for her husband who sells underwear and plastic products. He goes to other cities to offer his products for sale. He works four days a a week, especially on weekends when sales are the best. This work is tiring but at the same time it is the only way he has of making a living and providing for the family. He has been doing this for 15 years which allows his family to carry on. This loan will be used to buy underwear and plastic goods.

Esperanza is a founding member of the communal bank and she likes it as she can use it to obtain loans. Her dream is to buy a cart for her husband to sell from.

El Banco Comunal Chimborazo se reúne cada quince días en la parroquia Picoaza de la ciudad de Portoviejo. Lugar conocido por ser una zona muy comercial, por sus fiestas tradicionales de San Pedro y San Pablo y por la alegría de su gente.
Aquí vive la señora Esperanza, tiene 44 años de edad, está casada y de esta relación tiene cuatro hijos, dos mayores y dos de 17 y 14 años que estudian en colegio, tres de ellos aun viven en su casa. Su esposo es comerciante informal.

Doña Esperanza es una gran esposa que realiza el crédito para su marido el cual se dedica a la venta de ropa interior y productos de plástico, su marido se desplaza a otras ciudades a ofrecer sus productos, trabaja cuatro días a la semana en especial los fines de semana que es cuando más ventas realiza y mejores ganancias le quedan, el trabajo del marido es cansado pero a la vez es la única forma que él tiene para ganarse la vida y el sustento de toda su familia, lleva más de 15 años dedicado a esta actividad la cual les permite salir adelante.

Este crédito lo va emplear en comprar ropa interior y productos de plástico. Es socia fundadora del Banco comunal y le gusta por las facilidades para conseguir los créditos.

Su sueño es tener un carro para que su marido realice sus ventas.
