At age 60 years, Pren is the married father of three children, living in a rural village of the Thmor Koul district of Battambang province, Cambodia.
Rice farming is the main source of family’s income. He and his wife have been in this business for several years.
Pren has been with VisionFund for five cycles, and he has completely repaid the past loans. Those loans enabled him to better support his family and have some money.
Now he is applying for a new loan. Pren wants to use it to buy seeds and fertilizers for his farmland. With this loan, he hopes to grow his rice healthfully and sell it for a good price to improve his family's standard of living.
About VisionFund Cambodia
VisionFund Cambodia is a Christian organization and microfinance institution that provides small loans and other financial services to improve the lives of children, empower poor women and their families, and grow successful businesses. The organization works primarily in rural parts of Cambodia and has distinguished itself by targeting the very poor who require smaller loan sizes, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or ethnic background.
Kiva lenders’ funds will help the organization to expand into the northeastern provinces of the country, which have historically been underserved and difficult to reach with financial services.
