Thanks to the support she has received from Kiva, she managed to finish her first semester during which she learnt techniques and developed her style of drawing, bringing to her qualities a concept of publicity which in the future will help her to obtain better opportunities in her career. She finished her first semester without any problems, and with the support of Kiva she has reduced the costs of her career, including the costs to her family. Equally, she is keeping up to date in order to continue acquiring knowledge from her professors and classmates.
Today, she is developing herself both professionally and personally, and she is grateful for this collaboration. She hopes to finish her studies with merit and realize her dream of becoming an artist. She is on the right track and yearning to continue. When her concern about continuing her studies was growing, thanks to Kiva she was relieved from not having to worry about being the best academically and her biggest happiness is knowing that there are organizations that help realize people's dreams. This loan will help a CampoAlto student pay a semester's tuition. With seven branches throughout Bogota, Colombia, CampoAlto tailors educational programs for socially marginalized students. Each of these courses lasts three semesters on average and includes specialized training and internship placement to help students secure jobs after graduation.
This Kiva loan will be used to provide borrowers with needed goods or services, as opposed to cash or financial credit.
About CampoAltoCampoAlto is a for-profit education institute that offers a variety of classes to students from socially or economically marginalized groups, including women, ethnic minorities, displaced populations, disabled individuals, and those living below the poverty line. Kiva funding is being used to pay tuition for students who couldn’t otherwise afford to attend classes.
Because CampoAlto’s core business is not purely microfinance, there is some level of additional risk for lenders. For this reason, Kiva has not assigned the institute a risk rating.
