The Benkadi II Group is composed of 4 women who know one another through ties of parentage and community. They average 50 years of age. They are married with an average of three children each. They run different businesses such as the buying and selling of grains and vegetables for making sauces. In the image, Kossira is the first seated person from the right to the left of the photo. They live in large traditional families in Tiele in the prefecture of Baguineda (Koulikoro region, Republic of Mali). They have been in small business for several years and are very sought after in their businesses. In the interest of satistfying the growing needs of their clientele, the group members decided to join the Soro Yiriwaso loan program three years ago. They are on their third group loan. Kossira, who is the president of the group and very well known in Tiele, excels in the sale of vegetables for sauces. She expects to use her loan to purchase different types of vegetables for making sauces (peppers, tomatoes, onions, cabbage and Maggi bouillon cubes). She stocks up in Bamako from the wholesalers and resells in Tiele, at retail, for cash and for credit to a clientele made up of men and women. She hopes for a monthly profit of 20,000 f CFA, a sum which will allow her to repay the loan and reinvest in her business.

BENKADI II est un groupe 4 femmes qui se sont connues à travers des liens de parenté et de voisinage. Elles ont une moyenne d’âge de 50 ans. Elles sont mariées avec en moyenne trois enfants, elles mènent différentes activités telles l’achat vente de céréales et de condiments à l’image de KOSSIRA qui est la première personne assise de la droite vers la gauche de la photo.
Elles vivent dans des grandes familles traditionnelles à TIELE dans la préfecture de BAGUINEDA (Région de Koulikoro, République du Mali).
Elles sont dans le petit commerce depuis plusieurs années et sont très sollicitées dans leurs activités.
Dans le souci de satisfaire le besoin croissant de leur clientèle, les membres du groupe ont décidé d’intégrer le programme crédit de Soro Yiriwaso il y a trois ans. Elles sont à leur troisième prêt solidaire.
KOSSIRA, qui est la présidente du groupe et très connue à TIELE, excelle dans la vente de condiments. Elle compte utiliser son prêt pour acheter de condiment alimentaires de différentes sortes (poivre, tomate, oignon, choux et cube maggi.). Elle s’approvisionne à BAMAKO auprès des grossistes et revend à TIELE, en détail, au comptant et à crédit, à une clientèle composée d’hommes et de femmes.
Elle espère sur un bénéfice mensuel de 20.000FCFA somme qui lui permettra de rembourser le prêt et de réinvestir dans son activité.

Soro Yiriwaso is a microfinance institution that works primarily in rural and semi-urban areas of Mali to provide underprivileged communities with access to financial services.The organization facilitates access for disadvantaged clients, particularly women, to new resources and services, fostering solidarity and cooperation among its clients. Kiva lenders’ funds will enable Soro Yiriwaso to expand its outreach and target even more underserved Malians involved in business and agriculture.
