Benkadi I Group

The members of the Benkadi group are married women who are on average 40 years old with four children and all of whom live in polygamous families in Niaradougou, one of the villages in Sikasso, in the 3rd administrative region of Mali.
They collaborate with the Soro Yiriwaso micro finance institution in order to manage their farming activities in winter.
This is their fourth loan from the institution, the previous loans were correctly repaid
Mrs. Aoua who is standing second from the left in the photo cultivates rice.
With her loan she plans to pay for labouring costs, seeds and fertilizer for 0.5 ha. After the harvest she sells the crop in the village, at Sikasso to her male and female customers.
She hopes to make a profit of 100.000 francs CFA per field.
This profit will enable her to reimburse her loan and help her husband with their daily expenses.
Les membres du groupe BENKADI I sont des femmes mariées ayant une moyenne d’âge de 40 ans, 4 enfants et vivant toutes dans des familles polygames à NIARADOUGOU, un des villages de SIKASSO, 3ème région administrative du Mali.
Elles collaborent avec l’institution de microfinance Soro Yiriwaso afin de mener à bien leurs activités agricoles pendant l’hivernage.
Elles sont à leur quatrième prêt avec l’institution, les prêts passés ont été bien remboursés.
La spéculation cultivée est le riz avec Mme AOUA debout en deuxième position de la gauche vers la droite sur la photo.
Avec son prêt, elle compte acheter le labour, la semence et les engrais pour entretenir 0.5 ha. La production est vendue au niveau du village, à SIKASSO après la récolte à une clientèle composée d’hommes et de femmes.
Elle compte réaliser un bénéfice de 100.000 francs CFA par campagne.
Ce bénéfice lui permettra de payer son prêt et aussi d’aider son mari dans les dépenses quotidiennes.

Soro Yiriwaso is a microfinance institution that works primarily in rural and semi-urban areas of Mali to provide underprivileged communities with access to financial services.The organization facilitates access for disadvantaged clients, particularly women, to new resources and services, fostering solidarity and cooperation among its clients. Kiva lenders’ funds will enable Soro Yiriwaso to expand its outreach and target even more underserved Malians involved in business and agriculture.
