Mwanamisi is married and has two children in school. She lives in a rental house that has no electricity but has piped water. Her greatest monthly expense is food for the family.
For the past three years, she has operated a poultry selling business. She sells to her neighbours and passersby. Her major challenges are the high cost of transportation to her place of operation.
With the KSH 15,000 she wants to purchase chicks and chicken feed. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost her business and improve her standard of living.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
