Dromo 2 is made up of nine members and led by Susana as the representative. The businesses that the members carry out are varied: the sale of jewelry, salt, provisions, egg, maize, vegetables and underwear.

The loan that they take out will benefit small entrepreneurs, one of whom is Susana. Susana says that she joined ID-Ghana due to an invitation from her friend, Comfort, who is a member of the institution. Currently, she has a business selling jewelry. She says that she launched this business on the recommendation of her sister-in-law, who worked in the same field before.

She needs a loan of 600 GHS to increase her capital by purchasing jewelry from the wholesale market and reselling it to her customers in Teshie township. She will get the jewelry from her sister-in-law, who is a wholesale supplier, and then will sell it in her sales space. This method of work allows her to generate income to keep up her home, as she is single with two children.

About ID Ghana

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
