Silverio, 38, is a married man who has 4 children aged 14, 12, 10 and 7. All of them go to school. He is a tea farmer and has done tea farming since 2005. His major aim in starting the business was to have a steady source of income. Silverio’s tea garden is in Rwampanga-Kabingo, and he spends an average of 6 hours on the garden per day. His clients are the tea traders in the area. In addition to the tea business, he also supplies vegetables to the nearby school, which gives him additional income. He would like to buy fertilizer to apply in the garden using this 1,000,000 UGX loan. His main challenge is the weather (dry season), but he strongly believes that if given the money he will apply the fertilizers and harvest more and hence be financially stable.
