Roen, 58, lives with her husband and seven children in a village of Battambang province’s Moung Russey district, Cambodia. To make a living, she has been farming rice and planting corn. Having been in this business for twenty years, she is able to earn about 28,000KHR per day to meet the family’s need.
Roen has been with VisionFund for two cycles and has completely repaid the previous loans to improve her livelihood.

Now she is requesting a new loan of 1,000,000KHR to buy fertilizer and seeds for her farmland. With this loan, she hopes to increase her family’s income so as to make a living better.

About VisionFund Cambodia

VisionFund Cambodia is a Christian organization and microfinance institution that provides small loans and other financial services to improve the lives of children, empower poor women and their families, and grow successful businesses. The organization works primarily in rural parts of Cambodia and has distinguished itself by targeting the very poor who require smaller loan sizes, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or ethnic background.

Kiva lenders’ funds will help the organization to expand into the northeastern provinces of the country, which have historically been underserved and difficult to reach with financial services.
