Mukony is 35 years old, married to Normeshuki and the father of four children. For the last 6 years, he has farmed his own piece of land. He earns a good income through potato farming, which has proven to do well in his area due to good climatic conditions.
Mukony learned about KADET through posters. This will be his fourth loan of KES 60,000 after successfully paying his previous loans. He plans to buy farm inputs including sprays, pesticides and manure. With the profits he hopes to make from the proceeds of this loan, he plans to re-invest in the farm and plant more acres of potatoes.
His future dreams are that he will be able to buy a bigger piece of land, plant more potatoes for commercial farming, buy his own farm machinery, and educate his children. He is a hardworking man who is focused on his set goals.
