Shehnaz's Group
In this Group: Shehnaz, Shahida, Kishwar, Mumtaz
Shehnaz is a 53-year-old lady; she is very poor and needy. The major problem of her poverty is that all her sons are vagabonds and do not earn a single penny. If they earn then they do not contribute their income to pay household expenses.

Shehnaz's husband provides sheltering services to earn money to feed her and her daughters. He preserved all his sheltering material in a godown. However, due to a lot of rain, the godown filled with water and most of the wooden boards sank under the water and lost their specific shape.

Now Shehnaz's husband is unable to continue his business without wooden boards and bamboo. Therefore, Shehnaz has requested a loan for her husband so that he will be able to buy new smooth wooden boards and bamboo to continue his business again.

Shehnaz hopes that this loan will bring positive changes to her life and that her husband will earn maximum profit with the help of this loan. She is is very thankful to Kiva and its field partner because they empower her husband to buy new sheltering materials.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
