This group consists of nine members and is led by a Board of Directors headed by Sra. Benita as its president. The members of this Communal Bank engage in various businesses such as selling eggs, selling foods, weaving blankets, weaving blankets by machine, spinning thread from alpaca wool, producing sportswear, and producing jackets.

This loan will benefit small entrepreneurs such as Sra. Benita. She says that she joined Pro Mujer six months ago after receiving an invitation from a promoter of the organization who visited her at her house. Benita currently has a business of weaving and selling blankets. She gained knowledge about this business from her previous job where she learned her weaving techniques. Afterwards she decided to open her own workshop.

The loan she is receiving now will be used to increase her capital for buying vicuña wool that she will acquire in bulk at the traditional fairs. She will then use the material to make what she sells from her retail space. Working in this manner enables her to generate income to sustain her family. Benita is married and has four children.

When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, Benita said that she enjoys the savings, the loans, and the meetings.

La A.C. “ESTRELLA AZUL” iniciará el segundo ciclo en Pro Mujer, como parte del Centro Focal de Alto Lima, está compuesta por nueve integrantes y está dirigida por una mesa directiva donde la señora Benita es la Presidenta. Los negocios que las integrantes de la asociación comunal llevan adelante son variados entre ellos existen: venta de huevos, venta de comida, tejido de mantas, tejido de mantas a máquina, hilado de lana de alpaca, costura de deportivos, costura de chamarras.

El crédito que sacaran beneficiara a pequeñas microempresarias donde la señora Benita es integrante, ella indica que hace seis meses que integra Pro Mujer, ingresando por la invitación de una promotora de la institución que fue a visitarle a su casa. En la actualidad ella tiene un negocio de tejido y venta de mantas; da a conocer que este negocio lo emprendió de su anterior trabajo, donde aprendió la técnica de tejido, posteriormente decide emprender su propio taller.

El crédito que ahora sacará es para el aumento de capital (compra de lana de vicuña) que adquirirá de las ferias tradicionales, por mayor, y posteriormente a la elaboración lo comercializará en su espacio de venta. Esta forma de trabajo le permite generar recursos para mantener a su familia, ya que ella es casada y tiene cuatro hijos.

Cuando se le consulta qué le gusta de Pro Mujer, ella responde que le gusta el ahorro, el crédito y las reuniones.
