A loan of $1,250 helped to buy agricultural supplies for her coffee crops.

Maria Santos's story

María Santos is 24 years old. She is married and has four children. Two are in different grades in primary school and the other two are still at home since they are very young. She works in agriculture planting and cultivating corn, beans, cassava and coffee. She learned these activities at a very young age as agriculture is a tradition for her family and her relatives. She was able to complete primary school thanks to the support of her parents.

Agriculture, especially coffee, is a delicate product and if not treated in a timely fashion with the necessary supplies the entire crop can be lost. This is why she has asked for funding through COMIXMUL in order to buy 8 bags of nutrí café, 7 bags of 18-46-0 compost, 6 bags of urea, 7 bags of foliar compost and 3 liters of ALTO 10 SL with which to keep her harvest safe and healthy.

Her goal in the long run is to expand her coffee crops by buying more land, growing a variety of coffee to be more competitive and improving her growing techniques.

Her dream is through her income to provide her family with a better quality of life and offer better study opportunities than she had when she was a youth so that she can send her children to university so they can gain advantages.
