Florence is 46 years old and married to James. Together they support a family of eight. Florence runs a retail shop selling general goods in Awasi, which is served by KADET’s Kapsabet office. This has been her income-generating business for the past two years; she receives an average monthly income of KES 20,000. She has taken out a fifth loan from KADET Ltd, of KES 70,000. She plans to use the whole amount she has borrowed to purchase more mattresses (ten 42x6 pieces and ten 48x6 pieces) and 50 sets of sofa cushions to sell, in order to boost her business. Her dream is to expand her business into a supermarket and to meet her family’s financial needs.
