M. Shahid
Shahid owns an auto electrical goods shop in the area of Lahore, Pakistan, and lives near his shop. His shop is situated in the vehicle spare parts market, and it is challenging for him to sell his products, given the presence of competitors. This competition has a strong effect on his daily sales. To grow his business and his income and to get away from the competitors, he thought of a plan or offering auto rickshaw spare parts. In his area, most of the people drive auto rickshaws professionally. Shahid hopes that this strategy will work positively and that his sales will develop. He cannot act on his strategy without some capital. He tried to take out a loan from banks and other organizations, but they refused to give him a loan. So he applied to Kiva’s field partner BRAC Pakistan for a loan, because BRAC Pakistan provides a loan facility to empower the poor. Shahid is married. He has to look after his young children and his old parents, but he hardly spends time with them due to his busy schedule. Shahid is stress-free after taking out the loan, because the BRAC has showed him a beam of hope in the darkness. He is very thankful to Kiva and its field partner BRAC Pakistan.
