Norma Leticia
Norma is a single mother of 24 years of age, a housewife and family. She is a very hardworking and visionary mother to three children, the oldest of which is in kindergarten and the two young ones ages 3 and 4 years old. She has a complete primary education which she was able to attend with a lot of effort and sacrifice thanks to the financial support of her parents.

She makes her living growing corn and beans which she learnt from her parents at a very young age given that agriculture is a tradition in her family. The plot of land that she cultivates is her own thanks to an inheritance from her parents in which only relatives are involved. Her biggest dream is to give her children who she didn't have in her youth, the opportunity to study to a high level to prepare them and turn them into good people, profitable, improving her quality of life and facing financial problems in a positive light. This is why every day she fights to see her children become graduates and leave them a healthy inheritance and a plot of loan where they can build over time.

To do so, Norma is seeking financing from the Comixmul cooperative with which she will by 8 bags of coffee nutrients, 5 bags of 18-46-0 fertilizer, 8 bags of urea, 5 bags of foliage, 2 liters of Alto 10 SL fungicide and 4 bags of 12-24-12 manure with which she will tend to her crops and give improved protection so that ultimately the harvest is a success.

More information about this loan

These loans are designed for female farmers who produce a variety of products (onion, garlic, eggplant, spinach, mango, strawberries, etc.). Loan terms will vary depending on need, and borrowers can choose to make a "bullet" payment timed with harvest profits. Agricultural loans are considered risky in Honduras due to external forces like unpredictable weather and worldwide crop prices. As a result, many traditional financial institutions are unwilling to offer these loans. With Kiva funding, COMIXMUL will be able to reach more borrowers with agricultural loans tailored to their needs.
