Charles has a retail shop in Kangundo town and has been in the business for eight years. He is 37 years old and married, with six children. His wife also provides income to support the family.

This is his fourth loan term and he plans to use the amount to buy more stock of goods to sell. These include maize and wheat flour, rice, sugar, cooking oil and cooking fat, as well as bars of soap and detergents. He anticipates making more income, which he will use to stock his shop with animal feed to sell due to its high demand in the area.

Charles hopes to open another retail shop, make more income and be able to educate his children to university level.
