The "Modulo 4" communal bank was formed at the initiative of one of the members. Now it is in its first loan cycle, with 13 members. They are from a fairly remote settlement, around 70 km from Curuguaty. They are from an area that is predominantly rural and in development.

The majority of the members work in agriculture; raising and selling livestock. One of them is Lidia, who is requesting this loan to buy balanced feed for her animals so that she can continue raising and selling animals. She is very grateful for the opportunity that she and her fellow members are receiving.

El comité Modulo 4 se conformó con la iniciativa de una de las integrantes, Actualmente se encuentran en el 1er ciclo, con trece 13 integrantes, son de una colonia bastante alejada, aproximadamente a 70 km de Curuguaty, son de una zona eminentemente rural que está en desarrollo.
En su mayoría las integrantes se dedican a actividades agrícolas, como ser cría y venta de animales de corral, una de ellas es Lidia, quien solicita de este crédito para la compra de balanceados para sus animales, y de esa forma poder seguir con su cría y su venta de animales. Esta muy agradecida por la oportunidad que ella y sus compañeras están recibiendo.

This loan is designed for poor clients living in rural areas with high levels of crime and social conflict. These clients, working primarily in agriculture, are often ineligible for credit from formal financial institutions because of the high-crime area they live in, their lack of adequate collateral (like a land title), and the likelihood of low agricultural production due to bad weather or pests. Fundación Paraguaya is committed to serving these clients with loans and other wraparound services tailored to their needs. It also provides clients working in agriculture with access to discounted training courses at a local agricultural school to teach them how to improve their crop yields.

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.
