Sarah is a single mother of five children, and three of her children go to school. She also takes care of additional family members (mother). She has a business of a beauty salon and has been in this business for eight years.
She has applied for a loan of 300,000 Uganda shillings from MCDT SACCO to buy more boxes of cream relaxers, weaves and braids. She generates additional income through selling soda and juices. She works from home seven days out of every week and sells on a retail basis. Her major business challenges includes seasonality, and on-and-off electricity and piped water. She is aspiring of owning a fully stocked beauty salon and also to educate her children up to university.
She resides in her own house, and the family has access to electricity but not to piped water. Her monthly expenses includes rent and feeding the family.
