Lucy has a retail shop business in Makueni town where she sells food items, house utensils and tailoring materials, mainly weaving and sewing thread. She is 41 years old and single. She has been in this business for 12 years and it has been profitable.
This being her sixth loan term, she plans to use the loan amount to buy more stock of goods to sell. These include sugar, maize flour and cereals, salt, cooking oil and tea leaves. She will use the anticipated profits to improve her living standards.
Lucy hopes to grow her retail shop and have a stable and reliable business, which will enable her to provide for the basic needs of her future family.
