Rosalita treasures her eight years of being a member of PMPC. She is 66 years old, married, and has four children.
Rosalita sells a variety of products at her general store to earn a living. She has had this business for 10 years, in Dela Paz, Clarin, Philippines. Each month, she earns PHP 3,000 doing this work.
She has requested a loan of PHP 14,900. She will use it to purchase additional products to sell at her store, such as canned goods, noodles, beverages, detergent, and soap. In the future, Rosalita hopes to financially support her immediate family members.
About Paglaum Multi-Purpose Cooperative
Paglaum Multi-Purpose Cooperative (PMPC) was founded in 1992 by the beneficiaries, parents and staff of the Paglaum Community Development Foundation to address economic and livelihood activities for sustainability. The organization operates in the northwestern provinces of Mindanao and Visayas.
In the local vernacular, “paglaum” means “hope.” The initial foundation is dedicated to child development through a holistic approach. The goal is to build self-reliance and expand opportunity so the poorest of the poor can help themselves.
