Rejane is married, a 23-year-old mother who lives in Aurora, Zamboanga Del Sur. Her husband is a businessman. She helps in their business of buying and selling crabs. For two years they have earned PHP 6,500 a month. She took out a loan from Gata Daku MPC to buy more crabs and shrimps to sell. She is thankful to GDMPC because being a member helps to improve their quality of life and their ability to engage in business. She wants to improve the general living conditions of her family in the future.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
