Forty-six-year-old Etta from Liberia, who has been selling charcoal for the past three years now, has asked for a 30,000 LRD loan to build up her business by buying more charcoal to resell. To be precise, Etta lives in West Point, one of the most populated and well-known markets in Montserrado County. She did not attend school, but she said she is good at managing her business.
Etta is single with seven children between 18 and 29 years old. Only one is currently attending school, and three live at home.
Etta complains that the transportation cost is her main challenge. She enjoys the flow of her customers and the profit she makes. She sells for eight hours each day.
She hopes to build a house in the near future. She appreciates the support of BRAC Liberia.
