Mwanamisi is a married woman. She has three children, two of whom attend school while one is below school age. Mwanamisi owns a house that has electricity but no piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are food and school fees.
Mwanamisi has operated a vegetable stall business for the past ten years, selling from home to her neighbours and passersby. She faces stiff competition from other vegetable operators in her business.
With the KES 20,000 Mwanamisi wants to purchase sacks of tomatoes, potatoes, fruit, and green vegetables for resale.
She joined Yehu in order to access funds.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
