Asha is a married woman with three children, two of whom are in school and one is underage. She lives in a rental house that has electricity and piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are food and school fees. She has a green grocery business that she has been doing for five years now. Her greatest challenge is inflation on her products. With a loan of KSHS 20,000, she wants to purchase onions, vegetables, tomatoes, cooking oil and maize. She joined Yehu to access loan funds.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
