Mariam
Born in June 1970 in Bamako, Mariam lives with her six children and her husband in a monogamous family in the Kangaré neighborhood of the city of Selingue.

Mariam has not had the chance to go to school. She quickly became interested in income-generating activities including the purchase and sale of incense and beauty products.

Having fully repaid previous loans, Mariam is on her seventh loan with Soro Yiriwaso which will be used to buy a large quantity of incense and beauty products from wholesalers in Bamako. She sells retail for cash or credit at her shop in Kangaré, to a clientele composed of men and women.

Mariam hopes to make a monthly profit of 125,000 FCFA that will be used to help her husband provide for the family, pay the loan and reinvest in the business.
