Asha is married and has three children, two of whom are in school and one who is still very young. She lives in her own house that has neither electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expense is food. Asha sells paraffin, and she has been in the business for the last two years. She sells to market dwellers.
She is requesting Ksh.20,000 to purchase sixty jerrycans of paraffin for resale. She joined Yehu for financial support.

This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
