Alex is a 34-year-old man, married with four children and living in Hoima, Uganda. He runs a produce business dealing in maize, beans and groundnuts, which he has operated for a period of two years now. He earns additional income from his bar and through farming. His dream is to buy a lorry for transporting his merchandise, yet he is facing the challenges of limited capital and unpredictable weather changes. Alex intends to use the loan to buy produce such as maize, beans and groundnuts to sell.

This loan is part of HOFOKAM's program targeting poor and geographically excluded populations in Western Uganda. In addition to loans, it provides social and business training programs to low-income entrepreneurs and their communities.
