Revulino
Revulino was born in the province of Gaza in southern Mozambique. He is 30 years old and lives with his family in a home they own. He has one school-aged son and also takes care of a niece who lives with him.
He works for the city as a policeman and uses his income to cover household expenses and in building a house for himself and his family. But the cost of living is increasing every day, so he is requesting a loan to finish part of the construction. This is his third loan with Hluvuku; he used the two previous loans for the house, too.
In the future he plans to pay off this loan so he can take out another to plant a beautiful garden outside his house.

About Housing Loans

Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
