Pha is 39 years old and has five children, two of whom are in school. For her family, rice growing is a main source of income and she raises pigs to supplement the family’s income. She has been involved with thes current businesses for several years.
This is the third time for Pha to have a loan with VisionFund. The past loans which she completely repaid have improved her family's living conditions with decent food. Now she is requesting a loan of 3,000,000 KHR to buy fertilizer and insecticide for her farmland and use a portion to pay the plowing fees. She hopes to make a good income to provide her family with better living conditions and keep her children in school.
About VisionFund Cambodia
VisionFund Cambodia is a Christian organization and microfinance institution that provides small loans and other financial services to improve the lives of children, empower poor women and their families, and grow successful businesses. The organization works primarily in rural parts of Cambodia and has distinguished itself by targeting the very poor who require smaller loan sizes, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or ethnic background.
Kiva lenders’ funds will help the organization to expand into the northeastern provinces of the country, which have historically been underserved and difficult to reach with financial services.
