Harriet is married with seven children and five of her children go to school. She doesn’t take care of additional family members. She has a business selling charcoal and has been in this business for 10 years. She has applied for a loan of 400,000 Uganda shillings from MCDT SACCO to buy more bags of charcoal. She generates additional income through selling produce. She works both from home and the market and sells to all categories of people but on retail. She works six days out of every week. Her major business challenges include seasonality and transportation. She aspires to acquire a delivery van for ease in transportation and also to build her own house. She resides in the family house and the family has access to electricity and piped water. Her monthly expenses include school fees and feeding the family.
