Tatu is a married woman with three children; two of her children are in school and one is still very young. She owns a house that has neither piped water nor electricity.
Tatu operates a charcoal business, selling at the market to her local customers. She dreams of expanding her business in the future.
With the Kshs 30,000 she wants to purchase sacks of charcoal for resale. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost her business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
