The community bank “Estrellitas del Mar” (starfish) begins its first cycle at Pro Mujer (For Women) as part Centro Focal de Achacachi (Achacachi Focal Center). The community bank is composed of eight members and is headed by a board where Juana is the President. Businesses that the community association members seek to get ahead are varied, among them are: potato production and sales, production and sales of vegetables, neighborhood store, and potato starch and production, sale of livestock, and blanket weaving.

The loan they will take out will benefit small microenterprises where Juana is a member. She indicates that this is the first time that she is a member of Pro Mujer and that she received an invitation from a promoter of the institution who went to visit her home.

Currently, she has a blanket weaving business; she learned this business from her mother, who taught her the art of weaving.

The loan that she is taking out is to increase capital (purchase of wool) to purchase from the fairs of the city of El Alto. Then she will make the production in her retail space. This way of working allows her to generate resources to maintain, as much as possible, her home since she is married and has three children.

La A.C. “ESTRELLITAS DEL MAR” iniciará el primer ciclo en Pro Mujer, como parte
del Centro Focal de Achacachi, está compuesta por ocho integrantes y está dirigida por una mesa directiva donde la señora Juana es la Presidenta. Los negocios que las integrantes de la asociación comunal llevan adelante son variados entre ellos existen: producción y venta de papa, producción y venta de hortalizas, tienda de barrio, producción de papa y chuño, venta de ganado, tejido de mantas.

El crédito que sacaran beneficiara a pequeñas microempresarias donde la señora Juana es integrante, ella indica que hace es la primera vez que integra Pro Mujer, ingresando por invitación de un promotor de la institución que fue a visitarle a su casa. En la actualidad ella tiene un negocio de tejido de mantas; da a conocer que este negocio lo aprendió de su madre, quien le enseño la técnica de tejido.

El crédito que ahora sacará es para la el incremento de capital (compra de lana) que adquirirá de las ferias de la ciudad de El Alto y posteriormente a la elaboración lo comercializará en su espacio de venta. Esta forma de trabajo le permite generar recursos para mantener en lo posible a su hogar pues ella es casada y tiene tres hijos.

Cuando se le consulta qué le gusta de Pro Mujer, ella responde que le gusta las capacitaciones en salud y crédito.
